How to care for your leather or suede mukluks and moccasins from Prairie Moon.
We recommend you spray your product with either a general leather protector or scotchgard spray. We recommend scotchgard for most white leather products. Do not spray directly on leather or suede but hold can and spray carefully along the seams of the foot and where the crepe and foot meet. Do not spray the fur. Depending upon the amount of use, you may spray then monthly.
If your product gets wet let them dry naturally. Do not put over any heat source or dry with hair dryer. This will shrink the suede or leather and harden it. Use a suede brush to buff up and remove marks and stains.
When your mukluks are new please follow these below instructions before your first wear:
Heat mukluk crepe sole with a non-combustible heat source such as a blow-dryer.
- Soles will become soft and flexible ( approx. 10 minutes)
- Wear mukluks or moccasin boots so the crepe sole forms to your foot as it cools
